| How to Report/Complaint cyber crime online in India |
Are you a victim of online fraud or scam? or have you been cheated by someone online on social media? And you are thinking now what to do? then you must file a legal complaint to take further actions against the fraudster and to get your money back.
As per the Ministry of home affairs in an advisory on Cyber Crime prevention and control

, " In a PIL filed by NGO Prajwala, the Supreme Court has issued directions to MHA to create a platform for filing complaints related to cybercrimes online. Accordingly, MI-IA is developing a portal cyberpolice.gov.in, where victims can file a complaint related to cybercrime in a hassle-free manner"

Later central government launched proposed portal - https://cybercrime.gov.in/
To register cybercrime complaint online follow below steps,
1). Visit website - https://cybercrime.gov.in/
2). Then click on "Report other cybercrime" option available in top menu bar as highlighted in below image,

3). Click on a "File a complaint" option in next page as highlighted in below image,

4). Click in a "I accept" option in next page as highlighted in below image,

5). Click on "Click here for a new user" option and provide your all information there,then click on submit.

6). After that fill your all the user profile information there,then click on "update",

7). After that click on "Next",you will get below page open,now fill all the required information there in all options "Incident details", "Suspect details", "Complainant details"and then click on Submit option.

Once you complete all these process and click on submit option,you will get complaint acknowledgement number,kindly save that number to track status of your complaint,also save copy of your complaint in pdf.mostly within 2-3 working days your complaint will be transferred to local police station near to your location of address mentioned,then you will be required to get in touch with your local police station or district cyber cell to follow any further process and to get updates about your complaint.
